IVORY BILLS ON MY BDAY

last night i was playing on the usgs website, watching how they retrieve all the salmon migration radio tracking devices in the delta & this morning we did a story on their north american bird phenology progam. they are asking volunteers to help digitize more than 6 million hand written note cards submitted by amateur birders a long time ago. they will use the 90 years of migratory information to help track the effects of climate change in north america. real inspiring for some reason. guess just to think that these people, most of whom have probably passed, knew enough to make this effort & it was not without merrit. i want to work for the usgs.
