1. Uke of spaces corners- egg influence
These guys played the first music show ever at Cinders with a boombox and a guitar to like 10 people and it was amazing. they plated recently with a full band, including trombone, and blew everyone away. They live in a pink house on a hill in maine with a huge garden, recording studio in a trailer and a barn that has shows sometimes.

2.GOWNS-rope
GOWNS are from Oakland, ca. This song comes from a record that was put out by Cardboard records. It’s a beautiful, haunting, dangerous record that shimmers with warm noise and heavenly light. I could listen to them on my deathbed and feel good about dying.

Dum dum girls- hey sis
Loving some of these fuzzed out garage bands with girl singers and this is one of my faves.

Hot boxxx- hot razor
I distinctly remember my first time “hot-boxing,” or for those uninitiated with pot smoker vernacular: smoking weed inside an enclosed space until it becomes foggy with smoke.
I was 13, in a van outside a hardcore show that was at a church in Washington DC when police officers surrounded us with guns drawed. They were looking for the shotgun killer, a guy who was shooting random people with a shotgun and who apparently had the same colored van. We practically soiled our pants and then they left us alone when they realized we were in no way the killer. This is the band though, featuring some of my favorite people in the world.

These are powers-glass blocks
Always pushing forward, making new sounds and breakin out beats to shake the spirits awake with envy for the living

Screaming females- lights out
A screaming female that seriously shreds motorhead style galloping into the sunset

Usaisamonster-cocaine wedding
Some bands actually mean something and these guys were one of those. Their last show recently was proof: A community had formed around them, building up over the last 10 years. We all knew each other from being together at their shows. On a good night, they were the best thing you’d ever seen.

Necking-cinders / matt and kim -cinders
2 friends’ bands, 2 songs named after my gallery. Had to mash it up.
Necking destroyed an audience during an opening, art was falling, noise was crucial. I was smiling. Matt and kim did the first art show ever at cinders. They’ve been to more openings (and inspired more dance parties) over the years than anyone else I think.

Dan friel-buzzards
Squealing into the sun with this one. An old Brooklyn buddy who also does parts and labor.

Talk normal- lemonade
If this was real lemonade it would be the fiercest, most deconstructed no wave Spiked lemonade ever.with birds twittering, the room swirling, and the best hangover you’ve ever had.

Blank dogs- poison ivy
So catchy, so tweaked, so good.

Movie star junkies-
My Italian roommate turned me onto this Italian sailor voodoo trash garage band that sounds timeless to me

Golden triangle- prize fighter
Best zombie dance punk party band in NYC

Pterodactyl-share the shade
Best Modern rock band in Brooklyn?

Woods-miltary madness
Great cover by this great psychy folk band from these parts. I’ve been listening to this song a whole lot.

Bob corn-cold and gold
An Italian guy who played his first show in the US at cinders awhile back. It felt super special and this song was my favorite.

Dark dark dark-new york
A great summer song for new york by some amazing people

Japanther-the dirge
Best pop punk band in Brooklyn-I can’t even count how many amazing shows these guys have played over the years.

Ninjasonik/Vivian Girls – tell the world remix
Great remix of a great ,catchy song by a bunch of Brooklyn buddies

Nodzzz-is she there?
Sticks in your head and won’t get out-beware
