Wednesday morning at a little after 2 a.m., a 29-year-old man riding his bike home was hit in the back of the head while stopped at a red light. The man was waiting for the light to change at the corner of South Van Ness Avenue and 24th Street when he was struck with an unidentified object that caused him to fall off his bike. While on the ground, the victim was approached by three men who he described as being in their late teens.

The victim managed to get up and run with his bike down 24th Street, at which point the three suspects chased him. The victim fell on his own, allowing the three suspects to catch up with him. They began to punch and kick him. The suspects then took off in an unknown direction.

Once they had fled on foot, the victim realized he had been stabbed in the chest. He reported that nothing had been stolen from him. He was treated at San Francisco General Hospital. The injuries he sustained were deemed non-life-threatening. No arrests have been made.
