CONTAIN AT ANONYMOUS GALLERY

found out about this show right when it was opening. it's good and you should go look. it's on rivington between chrystie and bowery. maya hayuk was real kind and gave my sister and i a painting to share. she made it in the dark (in a storage container) that she invitied all sorts of folks to jam out in. no one knew who else was in there shredding because it was so dark. sweet solos became annonymous whilst inspiring a series of paintings maya made for the show. pretty rad. it is the same size as this one d. benzler sent me last year. except benzler's scanned a little bigger making it not the same size here now. they look nice next to each other.+

i have google alerts & a kid called me clown in this guy's myspace comments. i haven't looked at a myspace account that wasn't a band in a real long time. 5 years maybe. i'm turning 30 on the 1st. maybe it's time to shut this thing down and quit jocking art shows and indie rock on-line. nic's mix he made back in july won him an interview in his hometown rag. here's a song mirah played last night. i have a lot of memories associated with it. the best was showing up to play a house party in santa rosa and walking into a room with everyone sitting down and sarah's crush performing a real elaborate shadow puppet performance to it. i had put it on a mix tape for sarah when she was at mill's and it had made it up there and i miss mixtapes and cd's for that. i need to look up who boned out on our september mix and who's about to bone out on october. the mix trade is dying. this is tons of words.

A TALE OF TWO CITIES (QUOTE)
you remember a certain famous occasion when i was more drunk than-than usual? ...i remember it too. the curse of those occasions is heavy upon me, for i always remember them. i hope it may be taken into account one day, when all days are at an end for me! don't be alarmed; i am not going to preach:

AMERICAN BOY: A PROFILE OF STEVEN PRINCE
an amazing doc split up into 6 youtube clips with the embed disabled: 1,2,3,4,5,6.
here's his scene in taxi driver + the only embeddable scenes i could find of the doc:
"American Boy - A Profile of Steven Prince" is a 1978 documentary directed by Martin Scorsese. Its subject is Scorsese's friend Steven Prince, best known for his small role as Easy Andy, the gun salesman in Taxi Driver. Prince is a raconteur telling wild stories about his life as an ex-drug addict and a road manager for Neil Diamond. Scorsese intersperses home movies of Prince as a child as he talks about his family. When talking of his years as a heroin addict, Prince tells a story about injecting adrenaline into the heart of a woman who overdosed, with the help of a medical dictionary and a Magic Marker. This story was re-enacted by Quentin Tarantino in Pulp Fiction."
