mang, this thing is just turning into a way for me to brag about stuff i spend my money on. lame. i apologize and realize it is getting corny. i need to focus less on things that constantly require buying in & more on stuff like bike rides and bird watching. first, something that is free, all of rob francisco's coldblood mixes over in the mix column to the right there. they've all been featured as hamburger eyes podcasts but i figured it would be nice to put them all in one place. hope it helps you fully grasp how good this guy is at finding the rarest gems. second, something that is 1/2 way free, sonny smith's new 7" (limited to 300) free to grab here. chris johanson did the cover art so you may want to spring the 7.50 for a hard copy. third, something that is not free, sin nombre, which tati recommended and it's worth the cash. playing at the sunshine here in nyc. look it up in sf. more, not free things that are awesome: followers of sound & nathaniel russell's etsy. got this one. thanks again for looking. less pictures of records and zines and art to come.

LONG VIEW BY MARIA FORDE

click below to make more big. go here to see photos of the show & buy this zine.

life is confusing and complicated and i feel sometimes like i'm lost. like i wish someone could point out the way for me. you know, explain how it all works. because who wants to feel like they are bumbling along making mistakes and not learning from them? just walking in a circle and not getting anywhere. so i thought i'd go ask some people who made it a long way in life...

SCAM PUNKS ON THE LOWER EAST SIDE

knew i landed in the right spot when i found this sticker & piece my 1st week here.

it made me miss sf. i've never written a book review and really shouldn't start now.

my favorite mag, the only i subscribe to, wrote this proper review. ordered this and am very excited to dig in. i have a duplicate of sara thustra's city hall zine and heart over capital patch if anyone would like to trade for an old scam or turd filled donut.

3.16.2009

carter, there'll be no need to turn the sound off on this re-edit. enjoy my friend.

HONEST COME UP

i learned of honest jon's because their 12" reissue comps look too slick** to walk by. i went to find them online & got side tracked watching the mississippi cavaliers 7" go for $100 on ebay. turns out honest jons is shop as well as a label out of the uk. looked up the cavaliers for kicks and it is all pretty untapped. sure you can get most these here, but the hard copies go for quite a lot. if you are a collector get them while you can. careful though, they just reissued last kind words and i seen people bidding too much for it. i imagine this will happen with others as well so don't blow your top hunting, but please do keep an eye out for love is love and the lipa kodi ya city council for me.
